Competency
The BIS Salamis competency system assesses and certifies an individual’s competence in the skills required to carry out his or her job. We are one of the first companies in the industrial services sector to have our competency system approved by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).
By working in conjunction with the SQA we have developed Customised Award Task Profiles for 32 different occupational areas. These include Scaffolder, Painter, Insulator and Rope Access Operative. All personnel employed by BIS Salamis work towards gaining competency qualifications in their individual disciplines.
This program enables BIS Salamis to provide documented evidence of competency for their personnel, be they core crew or ah-hoc, for client’s approval prior to personnel mobilisation offshore. This provides reassurance for the client and an internationally recognised qualification for the individual.
