Employee Training and Development

BIS Salamis are wholly committed to attracting and retaining the best people and our Employee Development Strategy is a core element in fulfilling this goal.

Directors

A number of our directors are members of the Institute of Directors and have undergone IOD development programmes.

Trainee/Graduate opportunities

We currently work in tandem with schools, colleges and universities employing individuals in Trainee/Apprentice positions offshore as well as offering temporary Graduate placements and permanent Graduate positions in a variety of disciplines including Engineering, Accountancy and Commercial.

Competency

Our externally accredited Competency System plays a critical part in ensuring that all offshore roles have clearly defined criteria that reflect the required skill-sets and acts as a roadmap for an individual progressing through the various grades. We have also extended this model to encompass our onshore personnel.

BIS Skills Centre

BIS Salamis have recently increased their investment in Employee Development through the establishment of the BIS Skills Centre in Aberdeen and more recently our new Centre in Norwich which opened for business in February 2008. The BIS Skills Centres offer a wide range of training and development and are utilised from pre-employment throughout an employee's career with the company. These facilities provide a wide range of training interventions which are not only offered to external companies but act as a cornerstone for the continued development of our own people internally.

Opportunities throughout the globe

As part of the wider BIS Group, a wealth of opportunities exist for BIS Salamis employees in both Europe and further afield. We actively promote knowledge sharing through initiatives such as the Junior Management Training (JMT) Programme and the formal Cross-Company Professional Networks.
